StrataGrid is the original knitted geogrid. The Strata manufacturing process ensures quality, consistency and dimensional stability. StrataGrid offers superior junction integrity and greater soil interaction compared to any other polyester geogrid. StrataGrid is the benchmark by which all other geogrids are measured.

Process Superiority
StrataGrid is manufactured using high molecular weight (>25000 g/mol) and high tenacity polyester yarn. The yarns are precision knitted into a dimensionally stable network of apertures providing tensile reinforcement capacity in both directions. A proprietary UV stabilized saturation bitumen coating enhances chemical and mechanical properties of StrataGrid, increasing its life and enabling its usage in harsh soil conditions. Strata's manufacturing facility’s Quality Management Systems are certified for ISO 9001 : 2008.
Geogrid Function and Specifications
Polymer geogrids have been proven to be safe and cost effective for its varied applications. The primary function of the tensile reinforcement in a reinforced soil structure is to resist the lateral earth pressures so that the reinforced soil behaves as a stable coherent gravity mass. Most projects require an extended design life of 75 to 120 years. Strata conducts extensive long term product tests to ensure that the polymer reinforcement maintains its key performance parameters over an extended period of 120 years.
Not all Geosynthetics are created equal
The dilemma facing most design engineers is that all geosynthetic reinforcements are NOT created equal. The long-term properties of a reinforcement material are dependent on the polymer and the product design. It is important for the design engineer to specify a minimum certifiable requirement for the polymer itself and ensure that the material has been properly tested in accordance with international standards.
StrataGrid requires that the polyester (PET) fibres possess a molecular weight greater than 25,000 g/mol tested as per GRI: GG8 and a Carboxyl End Group number less than 30 tested as per GRI: GG7. Along with ultimate tensile strength testing, Strata conducts extensive testing on long term creep, chemical and biological durability and installation damage. Its tests are conducted at world renowned laboratories such as TRI - USA, BTRA - Mumbai and various IITs.
